Day 4 Activities - Blackboard Discussion:
While constructivism may hold promise for online learning, the theory is not without its challenges. For the activity today, please respond to two perspectives on constructivism, in general, and constructivism and online education, in particular. Responses can be made in the Online Learning Presentation discussion board on the ETEC 512 course website in Blackboard.
STEP I:
First, read this paper presentation about constructivism and online learning. Use the following questions as a guide to discussion:
1. What are the primary issues the presenter raises?
2. Are they fair warnings?
3. What can online educators do to mediate these potential challenges?
STEP II:
Second, watch this video about constructivism. Use the following questions as a guide to discussion:
1. What do agree/disagree with most about this video?
2. How would you respond to one of the claims about constructivism in this video?
